Job Description

Sales and Account Management

  • Contacting customers directly to get an understanding of their current business needs.
  • Call on and relationship build with dormant customer accounts that no longer purchase.
  • Generate new sales of products into existing, dormant, and new retail pharmacy accounts.
  • Manage assigned base of customers not currently ordering from with minimal sales activity.
  • Distribute larger sales opportunities to outside Sales team.
  • Call on new pharmacy accounts.
  • Utilize effective sales pitch.
  • Identify promotions that best suit the customers’ needs and win their business.
  • Work cross functionally with Sales Directors, and Marketing.


Customer Satisfaction & Skills

  • The Inside Sales Rep will be the 1st point of contact for their customer base.
  • Inside sales reps will need to be able to speak in a friendly, professional way to customers and potential customers, listening to their needs and helping communicate options for them.
  • Customers with direction on ordering and return process utilizing the process, policies and forms available.
  • Pass on all Customer orders and returns in a timely manner to CSRs.
  • Work with Outside Sales Reps to book product demos at existing, new, and dormant accounts.
  • Managing customer expectations and transferring any escalated issues to sales rep and management when necessary.
  • Assist Customer Service with communication and transaction modification for customers with backorders and/or item number changes.


Product Knowledge

  • Maintains essential technical knowledge of all pertinent products that includes consumables and general knowledge of capital systems.
  • Continually build technical knowledge of all products
  • Understand all current sales strategies including sales discounts, promotional incentives, etc.
  • Increase awareness of sales strategies, new product introduction, and skill development by attending meetings, self-learning, and training opportunities.
  • Report any known adverse events related to product use to a superior.


CRM Maintenance

  • Create and maintain new and existing customer account information. Example, Company profile and contact information.
  • Record and track all Sales activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communication with potential or existing customers including follow-up notes, customer contact information and primary decision maker.
  • Enter all new leads received as well as possible prospects.
  • Work closely with other members to ensure compliance to data inputs.

Other:

  • Provide backup order entry support to customer service during high volume times.
  • Occasional field visits to customer sites and or in collaboration with outside sales.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Prepare mailouts and send them to customers.
  • Participate in team activities.
  • Quarterly check-ins to assess progress and receive feedback.
  • Look for opportunities to create or improve work processes.


Must have 2 years of Inside Sales Experience in the Healthcare or Retail Pharmacy sector.
